Singaporean specialty: Bak Kut Teh

Bak Kut Teh

A Singaporean specialty dish!

Ingredients (Serves 4)

・1 kg pork spare ribs

・1 whole garlic bulb

・1 packet Bak Kut Teh seasoning

・Kwang Cheong Thye Chicken Rice Dark Sauce

Instructions

1) Boil the spare ribs

Boil the spare ribs in hot water. Once the surface turns white, remove them from the water and rinse off any impurities or scum under running water.

2) Make the soup

In a pot, add 1.5L of water and 1 packet of Bak Kut Teh seasoning. Open the outer packaging and add the white tea bag as is. Also, peel and add 1 whole garlic bulb.

3) Add the meat and simmer

Once the soup boils, add the spare ribs and simmer over low to medium heat for 30-50 minutes. When the meat is tender, it's done.

4) With your favorite condiments

You can enjoy the meat as is, but it pairs wonderfully with Kwang Cheong Thye Chicken Rice Dark Sauce or chili slices.
