They emerge after several years, having absorbed the essence of the forest in well-ventilated woods, when the fungus has spread throughout the entire log. These mushrooms appear from late autumn to early spring, and those that endure the cold develop a dense cellular structure, rich aroma, firm texture, and abundant umami.
